McG Medical is private, GP based medical company offering bespoke private medical assessments and specific treatments. It was founded by Dr C McGaughey in April 2023.

Dr McGaughey graduated from the University of Glasgow Medical School in 2002. He then gained experience on the wards with several years of hospital medical training and completing his membership exams of the Royal College of Physicians, (Glasgow) and Royal College of General Practice, ( London) in 2005 and 2008 respectively. He has gained significant experience of both private and NHS based general practice in Scotland and New Zealand. He continues to work in the NHS as a local GP and has been based in Ayrshire since 2011.

McG Medical provides services that are not offered by the NHS, are difficult to access through the NHS, or those that currently attract significant waiting times. We will always endeavour to make the consultations patient centred and address whatever concerns you have. You will have more time than a standard NHS GP consult and can access tests not normally offered by the NHS.

We are here to support your health; or, if it is causing concern or deteriorating, to provide timeous assessments and treatments to try to try to get you feeling back to yourself and doing the things you enjoy.

We can arrange further treatment or investigations in the private sector or provide a written document to take to your own GP. We are however, unable to refer to NHS services.
